Buffalo sports is on an 11 game winning streak

Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) - Yes Western New York fans, your Buffalo Sabres have won nine straight games while your Buffalo Bills are on a two-game winning streak!

Josh Allen made his return under center for the Bills and he was able to beat Doug Marrone and his Jaguars, 24-21. Allen was more successful with his legs than his arm showing no lingering problems from his injured elbow.

Allen’s first quarter was probably the best quarter I’ve seen him have in his young NFL career. On the Bills second possession, Allen found Kelvin Benjamin coming across the field and hit him in stride for 32 yards. Benjamin burned Jalen Ramsey who called Allen trash in two separate interviews. Ramsey also was called for grabbing Benjamin’s face mask.

Isiah McKenzie ran in for his first NFL touchdown and Allen had engineered a 5-play/75 yard drive to take the lead.

Buffalo was fortunate to get the ball back as McKenzie’s fumble on a punt return was overturned. Two plays later, Allen stepped up in the pocket and looked like he was going to be hit. He was hit, but just after he launched a perfect pass 40-yards down field to hit Robert Foster in stride. The speedster had no trouble making it a 75-yard touchdown reception.

Allen started the game 4-of-5 for 125 yards.

Referee Walt Coleman and his crew took over after that and refed maybe the worst game I have ever seen in the National Football League. They threw flags on almost every play and followed that up with long discussions acting like they didn’t know how to apply the rules.

Coleman and his gang of incompetents called 23 penalties in this game that were accepted. Buffalo was flagged 13 times for 80 yards and Jacksonville 10 times for 90 yards. I don’t think the calls favored either team, but I felt bad for the fans watching this game. The incompetence brought the game to a complete standstill.

The crew also had two plays that they called touchdowns reversed and totally lost control on one of them. Bortles appeared to have hit Donte Moncrief for a 31-yard touchdown. The Bills Levi Wallace attempted to wrestle the ball away and the officials just let it go on. Shaq Lawson then took a shove at Carlos Hyde and Leonard Fournette came in and exchanged punches with Lawson. The teams got onto the field and a donnybrook ensued.

Lawson and Fournette were ejected, but this clueless crew let them head to the tunnel together and Lawson tried to get back at Fournette. As that was happening, Fournette was right up against the wall and a fan threw a punch at him. Lawson still attempted to get at Fournette all the way up the ramp.

The Bills seemed to be inspired by the whole thing after the touchdown was overturned. On first and goal from the one, Hyde lost a yard when he was stuffed by Lorenzo Alexander. After a false start, Blake Bortles hit Dede Westbrook for a seven-yard touchdown only to have it called back on a Keelan Cole holding penalty.

Bortles was then flushed out of the pocket by Jerry Hughes gaining one yard followed by a Kyle Williams sack, so first and goal from the one turned into fourth and 24. Josh Lambo then missed a 42-yard field goal.

Allen got his mojo back after that finding Foster for 19-yards to the Jags 29. Barry Church was called for unnecessary roughness giving Buffalo the ball at the 14. The Bills called a quarterback draw and Allen scored to take the lead for good.

Allen rushed for 102 yards in the game until late when he lost a yard and then did the final victory formation. He set a team record for a quarterback rushing for 99 yards on 13 carries. LeSean McCoy wasn’t as lucky picking up just 46 yards on 17 carries.

The Bills defense made some good adjustments to stop the run in the second half. Fournette ran for 95 yards averaging 5.3 yards per carry. The Jags had 173 yards on the ground in the first half, but only 53 in the second. Bortles accounted for 39 of those 53 second half yards.

Allen showed off his arm using Foster twice for 94 yards and Benjamin once for 32.

McDermott still has a penalty problem with this team that he can’t seem to clean up on a regular basis.

The Bills faced Jacksonville in last year’s playoff and who would’ve thought that after they played this season, Buffalo would be 4-7 and the Jags would be 3-8?
