This year Dubai will be experiencing the Festival of Lights
- Diwali like it has never before.
The Dubai Government in collaboration with the Consulate
General of India is celebrating 10 days Deepavali Utsav in Dubai for the very
first time.
In the 10-day celebration fiesta, Dubai Police, Al Seef -
Dubai's waterfront promenade, Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment and
the Consulate General of India joined hands to have a mega celebration of the
festival.

This is the first time that the residents of Dubai will
witness Diwali being celebrated at such a grand scale and that too for 10 days.
The celebration, which started on November 1, will go on till November 10.
Dubai has variety of programs to entertain people like live
Bollywood and Bhangra performances, diya lighting and firecrackers show on the
day of the festival and a Guinness World Record attempt for the most number of
people lighting up LED lights in a relay.

Dubai celebrates Diwali
The highlight of the celebrations till now has been the
Dubai Police Band playing the Indian National Anthem at the Utsav.

In a viral video posted on Twitter, the Dubai police band
can be seen playing a melodious rendition of the Indian national anthem, making
Indians all over the world feel really proud.
Even the Dubai-based airline Emirates celebrated the
festival with a cool Diwali-themed food truck, where they served traditional
Indian sweets and snacks.

It was a great way to appeal Indians living in Dubai and all
over the United Arab Emirates.
This is the cultural collaboration that we wish for and want
to see happening more. Seems like it's a happy, happy Diwali in Dubai this
year.
