Bigg Boss Tamil: Contestant says he groped women on buses, audience cheers

Bigg Boss Tamil 3 contestant Saravanan is drawing flak for his comments on the show where he claimed he used to grope women on buses when he was young. Singer Chinmayi Sripada, who has been vocal with her stand against celebrities during the #MeToo movement, criticised the audience's reaction to Saravanan's revelation.
“A Tamil channel aired a man proudly proclaiming he used the Public Bus Transport system to molest/grope women - to cheers from the audience. And this is a joke. To the audience. To the women clapping. To the molester. Damn,” she tweeted. She also shared the clip of Saravanan' statement on the show.
Twitter, however, is divided on the issue, with many replying to Chinmayi's tweet in support and against her. While some say it was indeed inappropriate for the audience to cheer, there are others who said the audience clapped for Saravanan's honesty.
Taking a stand, Chinmayi also shared another note slamming the insensitivity with which Saravanan's comments were approached. “...do none of these people understand that millions of kids get molested on the bus? And that it is traumatic? How is anyone supposed to get justice in a society that cheers molesters?”
