A celestial object with magnetic properties, found by farmers in a Bihar village, will be shifted to the Shri Krishna Science Centre in Patna where experts can study and ascertain its exact nature.
The object, weighing 13 kgs, was found by a group of farmers working in a field after it crashed with a loud thud in Mahadeva village under Laukahi police station area on Monday. They extracted it from a five-feet-deep hole in the ground caused by the fall.
The object, suspected to be a meteorite, was kept at the district treasury and the district magistrate shot off a missive to the state Department for Science and Technology, informing about the same. Subsequently, on Wednesday it was brought to 1, Anney Marg the chief minister's official residence, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said.
Later it was brought to a museum in Patna on the instruction of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who examined it. The chief minister has asked scientists to do a study on the object
