Just days after North Korea tested a 'new' short range missile as a warning to South Korea over its planned military drills with the United States, the DPRK conducted another missile test on Wednesday, firing two short range ballistic missiles, according to South Korean sources.
Now, Reuters reports diplomatic sources as saying that Britain, France and Germany (a non-permanent member of the UNSC) have called for a closed-door meeting of the United Nations Security Council over the renewed missile tests, which would be in violation of UN Security Council resolutions barring ballistic missile tests. According to the report, the meeting has been called to take place on Thursday.
US President Donald Trump had earlier expressed unconcern over the first test, saying that the DPRK's missiles were 'very standard'. He said that he did not see the tests as a warning to the United States. The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, later told Fox News that "lots of countries posture before they come to the table."
