No Virat Kohli, no MS Dhoni in Times Now T20 XI for 2018, only two Indians part of team

It is the final day of 2018 and it is time for the final team to be released by Times Now sports team - the T20 XI of 2018. Not T20I, but T20, as the year witnessed fewer international matches in the format. So we have taken into consideration the performance of all the players across several T20 leagues and their performance in international matches before concluding with our T20 XI 2018.

Disclaimer: It may be a bit shocking for some of you to not find the name of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni and even Jasprit Bumrah, the players who have been consistently performing well in the format over the years. But this is a team of players who performed well in the format in 2018. This implies, there have been better players than the above-mentioned trio in T20 cricket. 

So we start off straight away with the top-order lineup - Shikhar Dhawan, Aaron Finch, Colin Munro

There were a number of openers who performed well in 2018 - Colin Munro, Aaron Finch, D'Arcy Short, Shikhar Dhawan, Chris Lynn and a few others. And among them, Finch is the name that comes first - 1350 runs in 2018 across four teams at an average of 48.21 and strike rate of 171.53. He scored three centuries in 2018 and 6 fifties as well. And his opening partner is Dhawan, who ended 2018 as the highest scoring T20I batsman - 689 runs at 40.52 which includes six fifty-plus knocks.
