WATCH: Virat Kohli's short-arm jab to his race with Jadeja - Indian cricket's most viewed videos of 2018

Virat Kohli was the star of Indian cricket videos which went viral on social space in 2018

2018 was a tremendous year for Indian captain Virat Kohli - who had a memorable season scoring bucket loads of runs and tumbling records for fun. He took his batting to a notch higher with improved skills and better implementations on the pitch. While there were several magical moments produced by him over the course of the year, his out of the world short-arm jab against England was one of the best shots by a cricketer in 2018. BCCI took to Twitter on Monday to share three of the most viewed Indian cricket related videos which included Kohli's short arm jab, his race with Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina's singing talent among others.
Kohli was facing English pacer Chris Woakes, who bowled a cutter at 121 kmph - which kept short and was coming in towards Kohli, who had anticipated the length of the delivery and was ready with a straight bat as he played a short-arm jab over wide mid-on to send it packing for a six. Any other batsman would have pulled it on the leg side or defend it opening the face of the bat but Kohli proved his mettle, showing the world an exquisite bit of skill.
Days later, Shubman Gill, a prodigious right-hand batsman, who has been making all the right noises in Indian domestic cricket of late, reproduced Kohli's short-arm jab in an ICC U-19 World Cup match against Zimbabwe. Not quite like Kohli, but Gill's ability to play the short-arm jab proved that he is not far behind some of the best in the world when it comes to technique and fluency.
As we bid goodbye to the year 2018, BCCI posted a video of the two brilliant shots played by Kohli and Gill on Twitter calling it one of the best videos of the year gone by.
Watch video:
While Kohli finished the year on a high leading team India to a memorable win against Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the recently concluded third Test match of the ongoing series, Gill has been impressive for Punjab in the ongoing Ranji Trophy scoring runs consistently.
Kohli notched up 2, 735 runs in the international circuit with the help of 11 centuries across formats, while Gill played seven first-class matches, scoring 897 runs at an average of 76.53 including three hundreds and five centuries.
The other video shared by BCCI was of a running race between Kohli and Jadeja to stop the ball from reaching the boundary line during a game between India and West Indies in recently concluded ODI series. Paul Hemraj strike saw the ball penetrate the space between Jadeja and Kohli square of the wicket before the two fielders ran their lungs out to stop it from reaching the boundary line. Towards the end, it was Jadeja who won the race, swooping ahead of Kohli to pounce on the ball and save some runs for his side.

Another video shared by BCCI on the last day of the year was of music lover Suresh Raina, who can be seen entertaining a bunch of people with his singing skills during the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka.
